- 15 February 2018
Google Classroom is a free web service developed by Google for schools that aims to simplify creating, distributing and grading assignments in a paperless way. The primary purpose of Google Classroom is to streamline the process of sharing files between teachers and students.
As what we evaluated at New York Youth Coding & Innovation Club, it works perfect and serve our purpose.
Step 1: if you are taking certain class, but do not have been invited into certain Google classroom (one course will be one classroom), please send request to our club email, in email subject, write down which class you did not see Google classroom (for example, you take “Python + IOT”, not see Google classroom, in subject line, write something like “like to join classroom for Python + IOT”), for best user experience, we recommend to use the gmail for Google classroom service.
Step 2: after receive the invitation email, please click the “join” to join the Google classroom.
Step 3: when there is a homework assignment, you should receive a notification email like this, click “open” to open the assignment.
Step 4: if the homework assignment is certain task (such as test the hardware, etc), just finish the task and click “mark as done”, you are done.
You may jump to step 7 if you like to undo and redo the homework (in case you find the better solution or fix the mistaken)
Step 5: If you need to turn in the solution (such as piece of code or answer of the question), you may need to write your solution as “Create” (then choose Docs), it will pop up and open a Google doc page.
Step 6: inside Google doc page, write down your answer or piece of code, then click “Turn In” to submit the homework.
Step 7: after submit the homework, you can still “Unsubmit” and redo the homework.
